IT Specialist – FEMA Hiring

Job Description:

The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in networked systems used for the transmission of information in voice, data, and/or video formats. This position starts at a salary of $79,780 (GS-12). Apply for this exciting opportunity to become a member of the Center for Domestic Preparedness team within FEMA.

Job Responsibilities:

• Developing requirements for acquisition of new network hardware, software and services.
• Ensuring applicable operation and maintenance policies and standards are maintained.
• Conducting analysis and evaluation of system needs involving data transmission and points of failure.
• Keeping abreast of technological advances in the developments of customer related information technology and state-of-the-art network techniques.
• Monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving communication system failures.

• Current federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements.
• You must be able to obtain and maintain a Government credit card.

Qualification & Experience:

Specialized experience for this position includes:

• Performing and overseeing complex network systems integration of multiple services (voice, data and video), and
• Utilizing presentations to address issues with managers and/or working groups, and
• Recommending methods and procedures to improve performance.
